Dr. Michael Bubon
Southeastern Wisconsin Orthodontist
Dr. Michael Bubon has been fascinated by orthodontics ever since he had braces as a youth. Deciding to make orthodontics a career, Dr. Bubon went to Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City to obtain his orthodontic degree. He returned to his Midwest roots to establish Bubon Orthodontics in 1993, currently one of the largest privately owned orthodontic practices in the country.
Always shunning “corporate dentistry,” Dr. Bubon focuses on maintaining a family-oriented culture among his team. His business was awarded one of the “Best Places to Work” by Metro Parent Magazine. Bubon Orthodontics boasts a long tenure of many of his employees; every year it seems one of his staff has reached the 10, 15, or 20-year milestone, proof of a great place to work!
Dr. Bubon has repeatedly published in international orthodontic journals and lectured around the globe on modern orthodontic therapy as well as practice management. His lecture topics cover simplifying orthodontic treatment, the treatment of complex orthodontic cases, the treatment of pre-teens, TMJ and non-extraction treatment.
Dr. Bubon was raised by two wonderful parents who taught him a strong work ethic and to think of others. His father was an army colonel specializing in Middle East Studies. His family traveled throughout much of the area when he was growing up and even lived in the Middle East for a couple of years! Through this experience, the Bubon family learned to appreciate and respect other cultures.
From his college days to the present, Dr. Bubon has spent a lot of time on personal development and education, particularly in the area of classical western philosophy and Christian theology.
Dr. Bubon currently helps run a program for high school boys entitled The Complete Man Series, which aims to enhance and round out the high school experience teenage boys receive from home and school. He is also the director of Layton Study Center in Brookfield.
Bubon Orthodontics regularly donates to a variety of local not-for-profit associations that help parents, children and families in Wisconsin. Some of these organizations include Summit Educational Foundation, Women’s Care Center, Pepp Nation and Woodlawn Foundation. His hobbies include exercise and golf (but there isn’t much time for golf!).
Dr. Bubon is a certified member of the American Association of Orthodontists and he maintains an active membership in the American Dental Association, the Wisconsin Society of Orthodontists and the Milwaukee and Waukesha County Dental Societies. He achieved Board Certification from the International Association of Orthodontics and was awarded the title of “Master Instructor” for the same organization. Dr. Bubon was named “Clinician of the Year” by the American Association of Functional Orthodontists.
