National Orthodontic Health Month

National Orthodontic Health Month
Happy National Orthodontic Health Month! For most children, October means one thing: Halloween candy. In the world of orthodontics, it’s a month spent embracing beautiful, healthy smiles. Here at Bubon Orthodontics we want to show the world your smile.A beautiful, healthy smile begins with straightening or aligning teeth. By moving the teeth, it can help with long-term care of teeth, gums, and jaw joints by evenly distributing pressure. Crooked or crowded teeth, prominent teeth, or an incorrect bite can result in more oral health issues if left untreated. The American Association of Orthodontics recommends for kids be evaluated by an orthodontist by the age of 7. However, we believe it’s never too late to start your smile journey.
Dental health affects everyone, no matter the age. No two patients are the same, meaning no two orthodontic treatments are the same. At Bubon Orthodontics we work with each patient to provide personalized treatment options. While October can be filled with hard, sticky, crunch, and chewy treats it’s important to be kind to your teeth during treatment. Some treats can break brackets or bend wires, which can lengthen treatment time. It’s important to take care of your braces, especially with Halloween right around the corner. If you can’t keep away from the sugar, remember to brush and floss after consuming sugary foods. Keep that in mind as you enjoy a safe, healthy, and happy Halloween!
